PPA 2026 Educational Session Abstract Submissions

Abstract submissions are being accepted through November 3, 2025.Β  You may edit your submission through the submission closing date.Β  Once abstract submissions close, no further edits may be made to submissions.

You may select to submit your abstract for consideration in the following formats*, with a maximum of 2 presenters, except Clinical Pearls, which may only have 1 presenter.

  • 1 hour Lecture
  • 1 hour Pro-Con Debate
  • 1 hour Workshop/Skills Lab
  • 30 Minute Lecture
  • Clinical Pearls – 15 Minutes – One presenter only

*Reviewers may opt to move sessions to a different format based on feedback, scheduling needs or other factors.

2026 Timeline

  • Submissions close: Nov 3rd
  • Speakers notified of acceptance by Dec 23rd
  • Speaker agreements due: Jan 9th
  • Presentation and BCPPS question drafts due: Feb 2nd
    • CE only sessions will need to submit 1 question per objective
  • Final presentation slides, questions, and recordings due: March 18th
    • All CE and BCPPS presentations will have recordings this year.

Abstract Submission Instructions – Deadline: December 5, 2025

Submission Categories

Submitters must select one of the following author categories:

  • Pharmacist
  • Resident/Fellow
  • Student

A question will also ask whether you would like your abstract to be considered for an award.

Abstract Types

Select the category that best fits your submission:

  • Completed Research
  • Research in Progress
  • Case Report or Case Series
  • Educational or Practice-Based Initiative (e.g., quality improvement, innovative teaching, clinical program development)

Formatting Requirements

  • Word Limit: Maximum 500 words (excluding title, authors, and affiliations)
  • Font/Spacing: Times New Roman, 12-point font, single-spaced
  • Content Structure:
    • Background/Objectives
    • Methods
    • Results (if applicable)
    • Conclusions/Implications for Practice
    • Acknowledgements (optional)
  • Tables or Figures: Not permitted within the abstract text
  • References: Not required
  • File Format: Text entered directly into the submission portal

    Author Information

    • Include the presenting author’s full name, degree(s), institution, and email address.
    • All co-authors should be listed with credentials and affiliations.
    • Students must include a faculty advisor or preceptor as a co-author.
    • Indicate who will present the poster at the meeting.

    Disclosure and Ethics

    • All authors must disclose potential conflicts of interest during submission.
    • Projects involving human subjects must note IRB approval or exemption where applicable.

    Presentation and Publication

    • Accepted abstracts will be presented as posters during the Annual Meeting.
    • A limited number may be invited for platform presentations.
    • Selected abstracts will be published in theΒ Journal of Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics (JPPT).

    Review Process

    • All abstracts will be peer reviewed by members of the PPA Research Committee.
    • Scoring criteria include relevance, originality, clarity, and applicability to pediatric pharmacy practice.
    • Notification of acceptance will be sent via email in December 2025/JanuaryΒ 2026.
